Even though the calendar says Spring, Summer has arrived here in Texas.  The temps reached the mid nineties this afternoon and we had to turn the AC on to keep it comfortable in the house.  We once again took our morning walk nice and early to avoid the heat.

Wallace called this morning and told John that Becky was available today to help him paint the cowboy figure he carved, so after breakfast he gathered up his carving and headed off to paint.  I spent some of the morning doing laundry and then continued with the packing.  Around noon Becky called and said they were taking a lunch break and would be over to pick me up.  We ended up at Burger and Shake for lunch and an hour or so of conversation.  John dropped me off at the house and then went back to finish up his cowboy.

This afternoon we attended a condo pizza party.  There were about 25 people attending and, as usual, a good time was had by all.  Some of the folks are heading out next week, including us, so it was nice to be together one final time and get the chance to say good-bye.

This evening we just vegged out in the AC and watched some TV--only five more days before we head north!

Thursday, March 29, 2012

Today's weather continued to be on the warm side with humidity so we got our walk in nice and early while it was still cool.

Since it was couple's golf this afternoon, we played nine holes this morning--we both had a good round.  This afternoon I did more packing while John did some outside jobs.  I also spent an hour or so online trying to get a computer problem resolved.  It looks like the laptop will have to go into the repair shop when we get home.  Because I was tied up with the computer, John went out and played a few holes by himself.  He's trying to get in as much golf as possible before we head north.

This evening John went to wood carvers and I kicked back and watched American Idol and did a little more packing.

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

We had quite a thunderstorm overnight.  It started out with very strong winds and then the thunder and lightning moved in with a very heavy downpour.  Several cracks of thunder rocked the house.  We learned this morning that we received about two inches of rain.

John had a haircut appointment at 8 a.m. so we didn't take our usual walk.  Things were still pretty wet this morning, so the men skipped their golf game and John came with me to Del Rio.  I went to Weight Watchers where I told the leader this was my last meeting as we would be leaving for home next week.  We then went to Wendy's for lunch and made a final stop at Wal Mart for some distilled water and a couple of grocery items to hold us over until we leave.

The weather was pretty nice this afternoon, so we decided to play a round of golf.  The course is pretty empty now since so many of the Winter Texans have headed home.  This evening we packed up another crate and then settled in to watched Survivor and American Idol.  We're into our last week here at the fort.

Tuesday, March 27, 2012

We had a thunderstorm overnight which gave us very little rain; however, it was enough to raise the humidity levels today.  As John and I were walking around the golf course this morning, I commented that it look rather wet and muddy for golfing.  We had just returned home when Natalie called and told me the ladies' golf was postponed until 1 p.m.

After breakfast, I spent most of the morning cleaning out the kitchen cupboards and getting them in order for the summer.  John worked out in the shed getting it organized and deciding what he needed to bring home.  This year we are going to have our power turned off while we're up north, so we made a trip to the electric company to fill out the forms and give the date to disconnect the power.

Following lunch, I headed down to the clubhouse to play a round of golf with the ladies.  Many of our group have already headed home, so there were only four of us to play this afternoon.  John wanted to golf when I got home, so after a little rest, we headed out to play a few holes.

Tim and Mary Ellen stopped by this evening to say good-bye--they are starting their homeward journey tomorrow.  We will miss our Michigan friends.

Monday, March 26, 2012

John and I were up nice and early for our walk.  Since it's now getting light earlier in the morning, we no longer have to walk in the dark. Even though it was cloudy this morning, the day turned out to be pretty nice.

After breakfast, John left for wood carvers.  While he was gone, I did some work on the computer and finished packing a few boxes.  John came home early as we had to be at the clubhouse by 12:30.  This afternoon the men's golf association held an appreciation golf game and meal for the folks that volunteered to work the big tournament last weekend.  John and I were a team and played with one other to make a foursome.  We played a game we hadn't played before.  Both players tee off and then choose whose ball to play.  The next shot is taken by the player whose ball was not selected.  From there on, that one ball is used with alternating players taking shots until the ball is putted into the hole.  John and I ended up two shots off from winning a prize.  When everyone was finished playing, we were served hamburgers with all the fixings, potato salad, chips, and drinks.  There was quite a crowd in attendance and everyone seemed to have a good time.

We were back home by 5 p.m. and spent a quiet evening watching some TV and reading.  Mary Ellen and Tim are leaving in a few days, so tonight they dropped off several boxes for us to store for them over the summer.

Sunday, March 25, 2012

The day started off with clouds, mist, and a light rain.  The sun started peaking through about noon, and the rest of the day was just beautiful.

It was the usual Sunday morning--walk, breakfast, and then off to church.  This afternoon we watched some of the PGA and NCAA basketball on TV and then played nine holes of golf.  This evening we  had a Skype visit with JD's family and then settled in to watched a couple of TV shows before calling it a night.  Just a quiet day.

Saturday, March 24, 2012

This morning it was cloudy and misting with high humidity when we took our walk, but the sun soon appeared and it turned out to be a very beautiful day.

I spent most of the morning cleaning out cupboards and sorting through which canned goods would be taken home and what could be left here.  We've decided to have the electricity turned off for the summer, so that means the freezer and fridge will also have to be completely emptied.

While I was busy with some of the sorting and packing, John went over to Gerald's place to talk to him about our golf cart.  He has agreed to keep our cart at his place and use it while we are gone.  We think this is a much better option that leaving it in the shed--this way Gerald can keep the batteries charged and have transportation around the fort.

John then stopped in and visited with Sam Lark.  Sam just returned home last evening after having open heart surgery on Monday night.  Sam says he's doing fine and is relatively pain free.  He'll soon be back to doing his normal activities.  We all were glad to hear his surgery was successful.

John and I waited until later in the afternoon to play golf.  We thought it might be a little cooler by then, but the sun was still pretty strong and it was quite warm out on the course.  Mary Ellen stopped by and took a couple of photos of us putting.  These might be used in a new marketing brochure the fort is publishing.

We also had several visitors today.  Stan Metcalf stopped by after lunch and visited for a while and, this evening, Gene Bevins and his grandson, Zach, dropped in while out on a golf cart ride around the neighborhood.  Things are starting to wind down here at Fort Clark as the Winter Texans start heading home.

Friday, March 23, 2012

We had another day of what I call perfect weather--sunny skies, gentle breezes, warm temps, and low humidity.  We met Rodger and Tudi down at the clubhouse and played a final round of golf.  As usual, we finished up after noon and headed down to Burger and Shake for some lunch.  We had made plans for Gene and Jeannie Bevins  to meet up with us and as we were eating, Wallace and Becky came in and also joined our group.

We learned today that our friend, Ralph Ramsey, was back in the hospital, so on our way home from lunch, we stopped over to see Dave and Valada Sandwich (Ralph's neighbors) to learn what was happening with him.  We learned he was in San Antonio for some testing and would probably be back home in a day or two.

John and I returned home and did a few chores around here and then took our golf cart back over to Unit 37 to say good-bye to Rodger and Tudi.  We were sitting outside visiting when Gene and Jeannie stopped by.  It wasn't long before someone mentioned getting some supper, so we all got into our carts and drove back into town to Burger and Shake one more time.  We visited until closing time and then bid them farewell.  John and I are going to miss our golfing buddies.

Thursday, March 22, 2012

Finally, a day without wind.  It was a beautiful sunny day with bright clear blue skies. We were a little later getting out for our walk, so we were able to do our golf course route since it was light enough for us to see where we were walking.

Since Rodger and Tudi are leaving for home on Saturday, we played golf with them again this morning and then went to Burger and Shake for lunch.  As we were leaving the parking lot, Rodger asked if we wanted to play one more time tomorrow morning as their golf clubs are one of the last things they'll loading into the Suburban.  We have such a good time playing together that we couldn't pass up one more round with them.

When we got home from lunch, we rested up a while and then I headed into town to get a haircut.  John and I then went out to the third hole by our house and played only a couple of holes before we had to get back so John could get off to wood carvers.

We have pretty much set our departure date to be sometime the first week of April so now the sorting and packing begin.

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

We had a beautiful sunny day without humidity but with plenty of wind.  John and I were out early once again for our morning walk and find we are getting use to walking in the dark.

After breakfast, John headed down to the clubhouse to play golf with the men.  His team had a rough time and ended up two over par.  Now that we have gone several weeks with no ant activity, John took some time after lunch to smooth out the ant hills and move some of the extra dirt into some low spots in the yard.

I went to Del Rio this morning for WW, stopped for a quick lunch, and then went onto Wal Mart to pick up a few grocery items.  As we will be leaving in a couple of weeks, we are trying to keep food purchases down to a minimum.  John made a date with Rodger and Tudi to play nine holes of golf this afternoon.  Unfortunately, the winds were a little on the strong side once again, and that made it hard to control  the ball at times.  Still, we all enjoyed ourselves.  It was late afternoon by the time we finished, so the guys suggested we head to Burger and Shake for some supper.  We ended our day watching Survivor and American Idol.

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

Finally, a day with low humidity and sunny skies--only bad thing about the day was very strong winds.  There were thunderstorms all around our area last night with threats of hail and tornadoes, but we didn't get any of the bad weather here at the fort--not even rain.

We were up nice and early for our walk and following breakfast, I headed down to the clubhouse for ladies' golf.  There were only seven of us this morning, so we divided into two groups of three and four players.  Everyone brought a snack to share so, after we were done playing, we sat in the clubhouse to eat and have a little meeting about what we would like to do with our group next fall.

John wanted to play some golf this afternoon, so I went back out with him after I got home.  It was very windy and that made it difficult to hit the ball where you wanted it to go.

This evening was the last potluck for this year and even though the numbers were low, we still had a varied and delicious meal.  It was also the last night for "31".  John and I both won our first games and I went to the final hand in the second one.  The potlucks have been a lot of fun this past winter and we have really enjoyed meeting folks from all around the country.  Some are leaving this weekend and it's going to be hard to say good-bye.

Monday, March 19, 2012

The weather continued cloudy and very humid again today.  We were up and out for our walk nice and early before the temps started to rise.

This morning Tim picked up John and they headed off to wood carvers.  John said the numbers are dwindling as more of the Winter Texans leave for home.  While John was gone, I cleaned up from last night's movie party and started going through the kitchen cupboards to see what food items will be left here over the summer and which ones we'll be taking home.  If the expiration date is after next fall, that item gets to stay here.

This afternoon John re-stained the deck and wooden posts on it and the carport.  The sun is so strong that it bleached the wood almost white.  That's one job off the list of things to be completed before we head north.

I did manage to get all the winter jackets and shirts packed that we want to take home.  That's one crate down and many more to go.
We spent the evening watching some TV, reading, and working on the computer.  There are thunderstorms in our area this evening--hopefully the humidity will finally break.

Sunday, March 18, 2012

It was a pretty quiet day for us.  Our morning walk was followed by breakfast and then church.  The golf tournament was still in full swing again today, so golfing was out.  We spent most of the afternoon watching the NCAA basketball tournament.  This evening we had another movie night.  Six couples packed into our tiny house to watch the movie "New In Town" while munching on the snacks everyone brought to share.  We all had a good time and will probably have movie nights again next winter.

Saturday, March 17, 2012

John was up bright and early this morning as he had to be down at the clubhouse by 8 a.m.  He volunteered to be spotter for the first round of  today's golf tournament.  He was stationed at the 13th hole and his job was to see if balls went out of bounds and to also let the golfers know when it was safe to tee off.  It was a cloudy day and that made it hard to follow the balls when they were in the air.  John almost got hit by an off line drive he couldn't see.

With John having to leave so early, I took advantage of the opportunity to sleep in a little longer and had a leisurely time getting breakfast and showered.  I then did some more clothes sorting and working on the computer.

Since the golf course is closed for play due to the tournament, we met Rodger and Tudi down at the Par 3 to play some golf this afternoon. When we got home, the tournament was over for the day, so John took a walk along holes three and four and found nine golf balls.

This evening was spent watching more of the NCAA basketball tournament.  A couple of our favorite teams have been eliminated, but a few others still remain.  We'll have to wait and see if they continue in the tournament.

Friday, March 16, 2012

We overslept this morning and that meant it was getting light when we left the house for our walk.  Since we could see where we were walking, we opted for the golf course route.

John and I had a 10 a.m. date to play on the Par 3 course with Lloyd and Ginny.  We haven't played on it since January and found it took a little getting use to after being on the big course.  We finished playing right at noon, so it was off to Burger and Shake for some lunch.  Gene, Jeannie, Tudi, and Rodger came in while we were eating, so we all sat and visited for an hour or so.  John and Gene then went over to Rodger's to help him replace a piece of metal on the roof of his shed.  With that job completed,  John watched a game or two of the March Madness basketball.

This evening we took a ride over to the RV park to say good-bye to Theresa and John B.  They are heading off to Florida for a week or two before returning home to Wisconsin.  We had a lot of fun with them this past winter and look forward to seeing them again in the fall.

Thursday, March 15, 2012

It was very warm and humid again this morning when we took our walk--we were down to shorts and tee shirts at seven in the morning.

We usually play golf on Thursday mornings, but that was out for today as the second round of the men's tournament began at 8 a.m.  I decided this was a good time to start sorting through some clothing and launder the items we wouldn't be using again this winter and get them ready to pack for the trip home.  John went to the post office to mail off a birthday gift and then stopped in to visit with Ralph Ramsey.  He just returned home after spending a day or two in the hospital.  Ralph thought he was having a heart attack, but it turned out to be acid reflux.  We were sure glad to have him back home and that it wasn't something serious.

We wanted to try and play a little golf today, but had to wait until late in the afternoon when the couples' golf got done.  The course was crowded all day, we even went down to the clubhouse around 3 p.m. but the course was still full, so we had to wait until about 4:30 p.m. to play.  We only got in seven holes, when we ran out of time.  John needed to get to wood carvers and I had to meet Mary Ellen.  We went to the RV park, pool, and golf course to take some photos to be used in a brochure for the fort.  It was decided to wait until after the big tournament this weekend to get the golf course photos--hopefully the trees will be in fuller leaf by then.

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

John and I both had a pretty busy day.  We started off with our usual morning walk.  The temp was almost 70 degrees with high humidity when we left the house.  The muggy weather has been hanging around for several days--it feels like summer has arrived here in Texas.

After breakfast John headed down to the clubhouse for the men's Wednesday golf game.  This morning he played with Paul and Stan.  They ended up with a score of one under par--John was very pleased with how he played.  Before heading home, he did some visiting with Rodger and Tudi and the Sandwicks.

I took care of a couple of household chores this morning before heading off to Del Rio and Weight Watchers.  Following the meeting, I stopped for some lunch and then picked up a few grocery items at Wal Mart.  My final stop was HEB for some fresh produce.

When I got home, John and I played a round of golf.  I am finally figuring out how to get the ball up and played a good round this afternoon.  John has also improved his drives, keeping them straighter.

This evening we just relaxed and watched Survivor and America Idol.

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

It is hard to get up early for our walk while it's still completely dark outside.  We have changed our route so we walk in the streets instead of on the golf course as we need the street lights to see where we're going.

Right after breakfast, I headed down to the clubhouse for the second day of the ladies' tournament.  I played with a different group of women today and my game was much improved over yesterday.  It was cloudy and very humid while we played--I was glad for the clouds as I got sunburned yesterday.

While I was gone, John and Gene loaded up the mirror John made for Sam and hauled it over to his place and got it hung on the wall.  Sam and Leta were very pleased the mirror.

It was well after noon by the time I got done with the golf, so we decided to eat lunch at Burger and Shake.  Gene saw our car in the lot and joined us while he enjoyed a cup of coffee.

Since there is going to be a major golf tournament here this weekend and we will be unable to play on the big course for several days, John and I played the front nine this afternoon.  We weren't the only ones trying to get in some last minute golf, there were quite a few people playing.

This evening was potluck at the RV park.  The crowd grows smaller each week as more folks start heading home.  Next week might be the last potluck for this winter.   "31" was played and John and I both went to the final rounds but lost.

Monday, March 12, 2012

We overslept this morning and were late getting out the door for our walk.  That meant a much shorter one as John had wood carvers at 9 a.m.

The golf course is usually closed on Mondays, but today and tomorrow  the women's golf tournament was scheduled.  I had to be at the clubhouse by 12:30 for a meeting before we started playing. The walkers divided into three teams and we played the back nine this afternoon.  Tomorrow, the same teams will play the front nine.  Our team had a pretty bad day.  Hopefully we'll all do better tomorrow.

While I was golfing, John went over to Paul's where he showed John how to wrap the handle of his driver.  From there he met up with Gene, Rodger, and John B. and they headed over to the shooting range to get in some target practice.  I got done with golf just as John was getting back to the house, so he picked me up at the clubhouse.  Tudi invited us over for some pop and conversation.  We visited for an hour or so and then returned home in time to get supper.  This evening I started a pasta salad for the RV potluck and also made some strawberry shortcake, per John's request.   We spent our evening watching a couple favorite TV shows before calling it a night.  We need to be up on time tomorrow morning--golf starts at 9 a.m.

Sunday, March 11, 2012

Finally, a sunny day.  The clouds and rain cleared out overnight and left clear blue skies behind.  After three days of no morning walk, we were able to take one this a.m.  It felt so good to get out of the house and get a little exercise.

Following breakfast, we got cleaned up and headed off to church.  Today was potluck Sunday and we enjoyed a delicious meal and fellowship after the service.

It was a perfect afternoon for golf, so we called Rodger and Tudi, and they joined us for a round.  John Bridger had left a message earlier in the day inviting us for hamburgers at the RV park around 5 p.m.  We finished our golf game just in time to head over there.  We enjoyed a nice meal of burgers, salad, beans, chips, and dessert.  That was followed by several games of Washers and then some visiting around the campfire before calling it a night.

Saturday, March 10, 2012

The cool, rainy weather hung around all day today.  That meant another day inside the house.  John made one little trip over to Wallace's to put the final coat of linseed oil on his Indian and cardinal carving--they are now completely finished.  I did some work on finances and baked a pie for the potluck after church tomorrow.  This afternoon Lloyd and Ginny dropped in for a visit with the rest of the day being spent watching more college basketball.  We need the sunshine and warm weather to return.

Friday, March 9, 2012

Winter returned today.  A cold front came through late yesterday and the temps were 40 degrees colder today with rain.

Since we couldn't do anything out of doors, it was a good day to just stay inside and get caught up on some household chores that have been neglected.  I changed bed linens and started working on the laundry.  Wes Camfield stopped in an asked John to look at a small carpentry job an elderly neighbor of his needed to have done.  While he was gone, Gold Star exterminators came and checked on our ant problem and then did the annual termite inspection.  Everything was good to go for the next year.

This afternoon John went over to Wallace's for several hours and worked on painting the cardinal he carved as well as touching up some colors on his Indian.  I started reading a new mystery on my Kindle. Just a very low key day. This evening we watched more of the college conference championships.  March Madness is in full swing.

Thursday, March 8, 2012

Today was all about golfing.  John and I arrived at the RV park a little before nine where we met up with five other couples and headed over to Uvalde to play on their city course.  The guys had played there a couple of times and asked their wives to come along today.  Six of us loaded our clubs into the back of Rodger's Suburban and headed off for a day of golf.  Two of the wives didn't play, so we divided up into three teams of three players each.

The course had a special today which provided a lunch with the cost of playing an 18 hole round golf, so after the first nine holes, we stopped in at the clubhouse for a sandwich, bag of chips, and a drink.  It was then back out on the course for the back nine.  Our team (John, Paul, and I) ended up with even par.  The other teams were all over by a few strokes. This course was much more challenging than the one here on the fort, but I still enjoyed playing in a new place.

After we were finished with golf, we stopped off for root-beer floats before heading back to the fort.  We were only home about 30 minutes when Tim picked up John for wood carvers.  I spent my evening relaxing and watching some TV.

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

Today was a busy one for us.  We got our day started with our usual walk around the golf course and back streets.  After eating breakfast and getting cleaned up, John headed off to the club house for men's golf.  He was teamed with Jerry Smith and Don Allen, two long ball hitters, and they ended up with a score of five under par.

I took care of a few household chores, and then went to Del Rio for my Weight Watchers meeting.  I stopped for a quick lunch, gassed up the Honda, and then shopped at Wal Mart for bottled water and a few other miscellaneous items.  John and Rodger had set up a golf date for 3 p.m. this afternoon, so I had to hustle to get back in time to play.

The winds were pretty strong while we were out on the course, but everyone still had a pretty good round.  I played one of my best ever.  A group of us are heading over to Uvalde tomorrow morning to play on that golf course--hope our good playing will continue.

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

We had another sunny day here in Texas with very strong winds.  John and I were up early for our walk and managed to get back home before the winds kicked up.

After breakfast I headed down to the clubhouse for women's golf.  A few of our regulars were missing, but some ladies from Canada wanted to play and joined our group.  The longer we were out on the course, the stronger the winds blew.  I think we were all glad to get the round of golf finished and get out of the blustery weather.

While I was playing golf, Rodger and Gene came over and helped John get Sam's big mirror into the frame he made.  Now he has to figure out how to get it over to Sam's and mounted on the wall.  This afternoon, John went over to Rodger's where he and Gene helped John get headlights installed on the golf cart.  Now we don't have to worry about being out on the roads after dark.

Tonight was potluck and cards at the RV park so this afternoon I made a pasta salad to take.  The numbers were down a little and will be more so next week as some folks are heading north to home while others are traveling to new places.  John and I both bombed at "31" this evening.  Maybe we'll do better next week.

Monday, March 5, 2012

We had another beautiful day even though the winds were on the strong side.  John and I were up nice and early for our morning walk so he could get back in time to eat breakfast and get off to wood carvers by 9 a.m.  I spent my time while he gone getting the kitchen cleaned up and working on the computer.

Since the golf course is closed on Mondays and we couldn't play golf, we decided go to Del Rio this afternoon for some shopping and lunch.  After eating, we headed to Wal Mart for a few household items.  From there we stopped at the SAS Shoes outlet store.  John was looking for a new pair of walking shoes and I wanted a pair of dressier slip-ons.  We both found exactly what we wanted and left there very happy with our purchases.  Our last stop for the afternoon was HEB for some fresh produce and a few groceries.  We were soon back on the road to Brackettville.  Once we got the groceries and other purchases put away, we spent a quiet evening reading and watching some college basketball.

Sunday, March 4, 2012

Our day was pretty quiet and low key. We had our usual Sunday morning--took our walk, ate breakfast, and headed off to church for the Sunday service.

Rodger had called this morning to set up a time to play a round of golf, so mid-afternoon we met up with him and Tudi at the clubhouse.  It was a beautiful day for golf with clear blue skies and warm temps and, as usual, John and I had a good time playing with them.

We had a restful evening watching The Amazing Race and catching up on the college basketball scores on ESPN.  March Madness begins and John will be watching as many of the games as possible.

Saturday, March 3, 2012

We had a big change in the weather overnight.  After some thunderstorms went through, the temperature was about 20 degrees cooler this morning.  It was back to long pants and sweatshirts for our walk.

This weekend was the annual Fort Clark Days Festival, so after breakfast we headed down to the front of the fort to see the different crafts and living history displays.  We walked around the festival stopping here and there to visit with folks we knew.  It was way past lunch time when we ran into Gene, Jeannie, Tudi, and Rodger and we all decided to head over to Burger and Shake for some lunch.  We all sat around visiting for over an hour when we decided it was time to head home.

Gene dressed up in his cowboy duds

John went over to the driving range for a while late this afternoon and then we just spent a quiet evening watching some TV.

Friday, March 2, 2012

We had another very warm and sunny day.  The temperature was around 60 degrees this morning when we left the house for our walk.  The humidity was on the high side and we worked up a sweat just walking.

This morning the Gold Star technician arrived nice and early to look over our cutter ant problem.  Robert was here for about half an hour and sprayed all the ant mounds and holes he could find.  He told us he would call back later in the day to see if the activity had slowed down.  He also set up a time to come back next Friday to check on the ants and to do our annual termite inspection.  Hopefully the ants will be gone and we won't have to worry about them over the summer.

With the ant problem getting under control, we met up with Tudi and Rodger at the clubhouse for a round of golf.  I once again had a very bad day.  Since it was so warm, we all decided to head off to Burger and Shake to eat lunch in the nice cool air conditioning.

John and I spent some time just relaxing inside and then decided to go back out and play a couple more holes of golf and see if I could figure out what I have been doing wrong.  I kept having trouble teeing off, so it looks like we'll have to hit the driving range tomorrow so I can try and work it out.

This evening Sean Miner, Tim and Mary Ellen's son, stopped in for a visit.  John and I met him last summer when we visited with the Miners in Michigan.  Sean is here for the Fort Clark Days Festival this weekend.  We had a good visit and it was fun seeing Sean again.  I think our warm and humid weather is going to end tonight as a front is coming through and the highs tomorrow will be 20 degrees cooler than today.

Thursday, March 1, 2012

We had a summer-like day here in Texas with temps reaching well into the 80's.  We didn't take our walk this morning as John had to leave the house by 7:45 to pick up Tim and head over to the RV park where he met up with Rodger, Richard, Gene, and Lloyd.  The guys decided to head back over to Uvalde this morning and play another 18 holes on the golf course over there.  John played with Tim and Richard and as usual they had a good time playing together.

I spent the morning doing some household chores and working on the computer sorting through photos.  This afternoon I went into town for a haircut and then made a stop at the library to return the books I had finished reading.  John was home by the time I got back and asked if I wanted to play a few holes of golf.  Since we didn't get our walk in this morning, I decided to play so I could get some exercise.  It was after six by the time we finished the last hole, and since neither of us felt like cooking, we went to Subway and got a sub for supper.  We spent a quiet evening watching American Idol.

Roofing Being Done Everywhere!!

John and I have been keeping pretty busy over these last several weeks.  Our weather has turned quite warm, but the nights cool down very ni...
