We finally got a beautiful, warm day. The temperature was 61 degrees with sunshine when we went for our walk around 7:30 a.m. this morning. As we walked around the golf course we saw many wild turkeys and deer. Seems like everyone was out enjoying the morning. It felt good not to have to bundle up in several layers of clothing--even just a light sweatshirt was almost too much.
After breakfast, we headed off to church were we had a special speaker from the Gideons. He was very interesting and shared a lot of information about their organization. John and I hurried home to eat a quick lunch and then headed over to the condos to pick up Mary Ellen and Tim. A group of us headed off to Uvalde's opera house for the musical play "Smoke on the Mountain". The play was set in the sanctuary of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church on a Saturday evening where the Sanders, a family of gospel singers, were performing. The play was very good with many toe-tapping gospel songs. We ended the outing at Mac Donald's for ice cream and returned home for an evening of the Olympics.
We have started this blog to keep family and friends updated with news and photos about our lives in both Minnesota and Texas. We hope you will check in often and enjoy sharing our experiences.
