The weather this morning was much improved over yesterday--nice and clear with a slight breeze. It made for a very enjoyable walk.
We ate a leisurely breakfast and then John headed over to Metcalf's to take some measurements of their back porch. Jan wants to screen it in, so John needed them in order to give her an idea of the cost to do the project.
When he got back home, we headed off to Del Rio so I could attend my Weight Watchers meeting. While I was at the meeting, John went and washed the car. From the meeting we hit Wendy's for lunch and then Home Depot so John could check on lumber and screening prices. At Wal Mart we filled up the Honda--$2.99 a gallon (gas was $2.86 when we first reached Del Rio today) and then stocked up on some groceries.
When we got home we put the groceries away and decided, since it was still so nice outside, we would go down to the Par 3 and play a quick round of golf. It was a good time to play as we had the whole course to ourselves. Mary Ellen stopped in to fill us in on the upcoming activities so we could be sure to get them on our calendar--I think we will be quite busy over the next several days.
This evening John went to the Gun Club meeting while I stayed home and watched American Idol. I think I need to take a day off and stay home tomorrow and get caught up on laundry and a few other household chores.
We have started this blog to keep family and friends updated with news and photos about our lives in both Minnesota and Texas. We hope you will check in often and enjoy sharing our experiences.
