The first job of the day was trimming up all the trees. John likes to be able to drive the mower right around the tree trunks without getting hit in the head by low hanging branches. Next was mowing more lawn and then he finally planted the Mountain Laurel, Red Oak, and Live Oak seeds that he has been storing in the refrigerator for the past year. I spent the morning doing more trip planning and now have made all of the needed motel reservations. This afternoon I took the camera and spent sometime photographing the garden so John's brother, Gus, can see how our garden is growing. We have plenty of blossoms on the strawberry plants and our tomatoes look nice and healthy. The only problem is we will probably be gone when the strawberries come in--the grand kids will have to take care of eating them.

John had to do some watering this afternoon. It's amazing how fast the garden dries out. The lawn is still very wet in places with standing water, but the constant wind has dried out the tilled ground of the garden. After a busy day, we spent a quiet evening watching more of the NCAA softball playoffs.
