We have had a marvelous time with the Miners. Each day ME started us off with a delicious breakfast which was served out on the patio.
Following breakfast, we headed off to an art fair held in East Grand Rapids. Once there we walked around looking at all the wonderful photography, pottery, and much more. John and I bought a ceramic tile to remind us of our Michigan trip. Next we stopped at a book sale where ME and Tim purchased a few items. The adventure continued with a tour of downtown Grand Rapids and lunch at a deli in the Amway Hotel--it has a beautiful lobby.

I think by now you are getting a picture of how our day went. Next stop was a tour of the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum. We spent quite a bit of time there--it was very interesting learning about his life and Presidency.

Back in the car, Tim drove us to Holland, MI, where we spent time visiting with their son, Shawn. We got a tour of his beautiful apartment which overlooks the downtown's main street and shops. By now it was time for some supper, so we drove to Grand Haven, a town on the shore of Lake Michigan, where we ate at a well known pizza place. Next it was back to the harbor area where we took a walk on the pier, saw some fireworks, the dancing fountains, and had ice cream. What a day!!! We dropped Shawn off at his car by the pizza place and headed on back home to Grand Rapids, pulling into the driveway around midnight.
Today was a much quieter one (we were all still pooped). We all slept in a bit and then once again ate breakfast out on the back patio. We followed that with a game of Hand and Foot (which the girls won once again) . That lasted until 1:30, so it was decided to eat lunch and then visit a sculpture garden in the area. There were many very unique sculptures and some beautiful tropical flowers to see.
I think this was entitled "Listening To History"

I have been taking little breaks while writing this entry. Just finished eating a sandwich and strawberry shortcake. It's time for another round of Hand and Foot. You'll have to check back tomorrow evening to see who wins. I'm not sure if I'll have internet access tomorrow evening as we move on with our travels, so you might not hear from me for a day or two.
