After last Tuesday's golf being canceled due to rain, it felt good to get back on the course with the ladies. This morning Linda, Tootie and I played together using golf carts while Ginny and Mary Ellen walked their round. This was our last time playing together this year as several of them will be heading home this weekend. While we were out on the course we saw a large flock of Sandhill Cranes flying north. We usually have a pair of them spending the summer in a field west of our house.
While I was playing with the girls, John played a best ball scramble with Roger, Paul, and John B. These guys have been playing together on Tuesday mornings for most of the winter and today was the final "grudge" match of the year. John and Roger are always a team and today they beat Paul and John B. by eleven strokes. A rematch will have to wait until next fall when we all get back to the fort.
After resting up for a little bit this afternoon, we got cleaned up and headed over to the RV park for the final potluck of the season. Even though the park is beginning to empty out, we still had a good crowd and plenty of delicious food. I didn't have much luck at cards this evening, but John managed to win his second game. We'll miss our fun Tuesday nights.
We have started this blog to keep family and friends updated with news and photos about our lives in both Minnesota and Texas. We hope you will check in often and enjoy sharing our experiences.
