With all the rain overnight and this morning, our worst fears about the driveway came true. There are ruts and mud everywhere they trenched in the new cable. A fellow from the company that did the work came back to see how the driveway looked and told us they will be bringing in some gravel to spread on it and help fill in the ruts and holes.

By the late morning, the skies started to clear, so John decided it would be a good time to finish hauling the firewood from Matt's. Grandson, Sam, and his cousin, Elizabeth, again helped load the trailer and back of the truck. John took his time this afternoon unloading and stacking the wood--we should soon have enough to last through next winter.

Before supper, I spent a little time checking the flowers and garden. Everything is growing quickly. I took several photos, but the mosquitoes were just thick, so I didn't linger long. We spent a quiet evening watching a movie on TV.
