THE FINALE LEG OF THE JOURNEY!! We got up a little earlier this morning and were on the road by 7:30 a.m. We wanted to get through Reno before noon so we could avoid the Memorial Day traffic heading out from Lake Tahoe.
There was more traffic today but we made good time into Sacramento. The drive seemed all down hill--we went from a 7,000 foot elevation down to 1,000--our ears were popping all the way.
We reached Susie's place around noon. It was wonderful to see everyone again--we hardly recognized the kids, they have grown so much. Zach was working at Chick-fil-a, so we went there to see him. Today was Milk Shake Monday. When you order a milk shake, you get free chicken nuggets. So we not only got to see Zach, but we had a real treat, too.
Everyone enjoyed a nice salad for supper which we ate out back by the pool. The evening was spent visiting and watching some Andy of Mayberry. John and I are glad to be off the road and look forward to a fun week with family.
We have started this blog to keep family and friends updated with news and photos about our lives in both Minnesota and Texas. We hope you will check in often and enjoy sharing our experiences.
