AC Back On Today

The golf course was closed today due to the Summerfest golf tournament.  John and I have been playing every morning, so it felt good to sleep in a little longer this morning.  The weather was perfect this morning, so we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast out on the porch while watching the hummingbirds at the feeder.

Following breakfast, John headed up to JD's to help with replacing another section of his porch roof that was leaking.  They had already done the repair once, but found another leak a little higher on the roof after our recent rain.  While John was gone, I did some more ebay shipping and researched a few items we want to sell.  Once John got home, we headed to Bemidji for lunch and some shopping.

With rain showers and long days of sunshine, our garden is coming along very nicely.

John uses plastic bags and netting to

 Carrots, lettuce, and onions

John picked a bucket of strawberries the other day, so I guess we'll be having some strawberry shortcake this weekend.

Pain management called yesterday and I am scheduled for another nerve denervation on Wednesday morning.  The doctor plans to be a little more agressive in the treatment this time and do the nerves at three different levels.  The only drawback is the pain usually gets worse before it gets better following the procedure.

We're Still Here

Thought I'd better do a little updating on the blog.  Things have been very quiet around here.   Our weather has warmed up but we still seem to get rain showers just about every evening which leads to high humidity.  I was back to pain management last week and the doctor decided that I would benefit from another nerve denervation, so right now I'm waiting for them to call and give me a date for the procedure.  It seems I am dealing with two separate back problems.  The injections I had a month ago are still keeping the hip and leg pain away.  Just need to get the lower back pain under control now.  John worked with Matt and Sam yesterday and finally completed the bathroom job they had started a few weeks ago.  Garden is coming along pretty nicely--we got our first strawberry today.

Brief Update

Just as the title says, this is going to be a brief update to let you know that we are still alive and well here in northern Minnesota.  Our weather was beautiful last week with many sunny days in a row.  John and I have been playing golf every morning and then the remainder of the days have been spent gardening, mowing lawn, and just taking care of household chores.

We got together with Sam, Matt, and Sara at the drive-in last Monday evening for an ice cream treat to celebrate Matt's birthday (Rachel and Hanna were out of town for a basketball tournament).  I was back to the Center for Pain Management Friday afternoon for another diagnostic test with consisted of four injections into my back.  They will call me tomorrow to see how much pain relief I experienced and then set up an appointment to see the doctor where it will be decided if I will have another nerve denervation done.

AC On Today

Today felt like the middle of summer with high temps and humidity.  We had off and on showers most of the weekend with some pretty heavy rains at times.  John has a steady job grass cutting right now.

Things are pretty quiet around here now that school is out and track is over.  We've just been hanging out around the house and playing golf early in the mornings while it's cooler.  John and I did some sorting in the old shop and found more things to put on ebay, so I've been keeping busy listing items and shipping those that sell.  I can't believe how much stuff we've shipped over the last couple of weeks.  I think this is going to be a summer-long project.

Rain/Sun/Rain/Sun

The title of this posting tells it all.  The weather has been back and forth between rain and sunshine, so we've had to fit in outside activities whenever possible.  With the warmer weather and moisture, John has been mowing the lawn twice a week in between the rain showers.  We did get  a couple of rounds of golf in this last week including one this morning.  Our golf course is in beautiful condition and we are enjoying playing on the nice fairways.

As I mentioned in my last update, Sam made it to the state track meet which started today at Hamline University in the Twin Cities.  He competed in the preliminaries of the open 100 and 400 but didn't qualify for the finals; however, he achieved his personal goal of breaking the school record in the 400.  The record stood for 25 years.  Rain is in the forecast again for tomorrow, so it looks like we'll have keep busy inside.

Roofing Being Done Everywhere!!

John and I have been keeping pretty busy over these last several weeks.  Our weather has turned quite warm, but the nights cool down very ni...
