Warmer Weather

Here is what has been happening here in Texas over the last several days:  Even though Wednesday morning was cold with temps in the low 30's, John, the die hard golfer, headed off to the clubhouse for men's golf.  He returned home about 15 minutes later as no one showed up.  We then spent the rest morning doing some chores around the house.  By the afternoon, the sun was shining and the temps were in the upper 60's.  Those weather conditions brought out the golfers, us included.  John and I had just returned home and were resting when Chuck and Lois stopped in and invited us out for supper.  We headed into town for a quick meal at Burger and Shake and then over to their place for an evening of cards.

Thursday was a beautiful day and perfect for couples' golf in the afternoon.  I skipped golfing on Friday, but John went out and played a round by himself.  Following supper I headed off to Bingo while John watched college football on TV.

Today we headed into town to pick up a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner.  The local supermarket had a coupon for $7 off any grade A turkey--who could resist a deal like that.  After lunch we headed out to play a round of golf.  As we were signing in, a gentleman from Canada asked if he could join us as he was by himself.  We had a fun time visiting with Ken and found him to be a pretty good golfer.

Our evening was spent Skyping with the kids and catching up on what has been happening at home since we've been gone.  Early this evening we had a strong thunderstorm move through our area and in its wake was a beautiful rainbow.
