It was a perfect southwest Texas day--blue skies, sunshine, warm breezes and temps. We took a nice long walk this morning, just enjoying the beautiful morning. After breakfast we broke out the bread maker and made some homemade bread. We haven't had any for such a long time, so we decided that today was the day to make some--it sure tasted good with butter and homemade peach jam.

The weather forecast for next week is calling for the re
turn of cooler temps, so we decided to hit the Par 3 course again today while the weather was so nice. It's potluck Sunday at church tomorrow, so after our golf game, I baked a cake to take for the dinner.

This evening was the first annual Christmas parade here at the fort. Folks decorated their golf carts and drove them around some of the streets before
ending up at the front gate where people gathered for the lighting of the big Christmas tree. John, along with Dee Smith, were the parade judges--they had to decide which carts were the best decorated and pick first, second and third place winners. It was a difficult decision as some of the carts were very nicely decorated. On our way back home from the parade, we drove around several of the streets looking at the Christmas lights--some home are just amazing!

We just kicked back for the rest of the evening by watching some college basketball and John's favorite, The Outdoor Channel.
