John and I took a different route this morning--we usually only see one or two people, but today we saw many dogs walking their owners. I really mean it--the dogs were walking their owners! The humans were literally being dragged down the road, and the pups weren't even very big. Our walk took us to Unit 37 where Betty and Harlan were already up and out--everyone else must have still been in bed--not a soul was stirring.

After breakfast, John went over to Carlson's to cut up some wood for the projects he has for Sam and Jan--he was able to get her's completed this afternoon. While he was at that end of the fort, he made a quick run to the post office. We are receiving a few Christmas cards everyday. It is fun to read everyone's Christmas letters and learn what has been happening with friends and family.

We decided to try a new bread recipe, but found that we didn't have the right size pan, so that meant another trip into town and the Dollar General Store. We found just the pan we were looking for, made up the dough, and let it rise while we ate supper. The baking bread smelled so good, we couldn't resist having a little piece once it was cool enough to cut. It was delicious--best bread we've ever made.

Our evening was spent watching some NFL and a couple of nature shows. Will really be glad when the days get longer and one can get outside after supper.
