The overnight temperatures have begun to moderate a little and remain above freezing. It was actually very pleasant walking this morning. We left the house a little earlier so John could be back in time to eat breakfast, get cleaned up, and head off to wood carvers.

Today was Wallace's 69th birthday and the wood carve
rs had planned a surprise luncheon to help him celebrate. It was Jim and Kathy's job to get Wallace and his wife, Becky, to the Dehanes restaurant where his friends would be waiting to surprise him. Everyone kept the secret for two weeks and he was very surprised. We all had a fun time and the food was absolutely delicious. John and I rode to Dehanes with Harlan and Betty Wright. Betty is an excellent carver and has given John many helpful carving hints over the years.

John and I both ate way too much and felt rather bloated when we got back home. Since it was such a nice afternoon, we decided to head down to the Par 3 and play a few holes of golf and get a little exercise. We both felt much better after stretching our legs and walking the course. We also had a few good shots. Maybe there's still hope for our game.

After supper we both just relaxed watching some TV and working on the computer. The next couple of days will be rather busy, so an early night is in order.
