We had an absolutely beautiful day today--bright sunshine, warmer temps, and a gentle breeze.  John and I started off our day with our usual morning walk.  Our recent rains have certainly made everything lush and green.

First thing John did this morning was unload the firewood he brought home yesterday.  He then spent some time in the shop making bases for the figures he carved this past winter.  While he was occupied with that, I took care of some chores around the house.  We then got busy hanging the photos we framed and matted yesterday.  I'll have to take some photos of our remodeled bathroom and get them on the blog.

Since it was such a nice day, we decided to finish the job John started the other day--cutting down the diseased tree in our front yard.  John did the cutting and I did the picking up.  After about 45 minutes we were both hot and sweaty and thought "What are we doing working like this in the heat of the day?".  We decided to quit and wait until after supper to finish up when that section of the yard would have some shade and the sun would be lower in the sky.  That was a good idea, we were able to get the job done in much more comfortable conditions.

Finally, a sunny morning.  Well, once the fog lifted, it was sunny and perfect for a walk.

This morning John worked down in the shop finishing up the picture frames he started yesterday.  I started pricing items for my garage sale and packing everything into crates to haul out to the garage.

Following lunch, John headed up to Matt's to do some more wood cutting.  There were a couple of dead trees along the back of Matt's field that John cut down, cut up, and hauled home.  There is still plenty of wood to cut and split.

This afternoon I got the pictures for the bathroom all matted and framed, now hopefully we'll get the hung sometime this week.  We spent a quiet evening watching some TV, reading, and working on the computer.

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

We had another day of off and on showers with very strong winds.  Whenever there was a break in the rain, John did some outside work.  This morning he went back up to Matt's where he and Hanna loaded the trailer with some of the wood they split yesterday. John then hauled it home and unloaded it into the woodshed.  Time was also spent down in the shop making new picture frames for the bathroom.

I got a call from the craft shop that the matting I ordered was ready, so this afternoon I decided to pick it up as I had a couple of other errands to run.  First stop was the local newspaper to drop off the ad for my garage sale.  From there I headed to Bemdiji where I got the matting, picked up a couple of subs from Subway, and made a quick stop at the grocery store for some milk.

Even though we've had rain showers and wind all day, the forecast is for clear, calm weather overnight with the possibility of frost.  John dug out all sorts of buckets, tarps, and large sheets of plastic and covered every inch of his garden to protect it from freezing. Hopefully the weatherman is wrong.  As of this posting, the temp is 43 degrees.

Monday, May 28, 2012

We had a pretty uneventful Memorial Day.  The rain continued off and on all day in the form of popcorn showers--sunny one moment and heavy rains the next.  John managed to do a few outdoor chores between showers.  This morning he started cutting down the Canadian Cherry tree in our front yard.  The tree became diseased and had been dying over the past couple of years so this spring it was time to start taking it down.

During one of our many showers, John worked inside and hung the linen closet door in the bathroom.  This afternoon the sun made an appearance for awhile, so John went up to Matt's and he and Hanna split the wood he has been cutting over the past few days.  I kept busy doing a few chores around the house and getting graduation cards ready to be mailed.  I gathered more items for the yard sale and now need to get busy pricing everything.

Sunday, May 27, 2012

Thunderstorms rolled in overnight with heavy rains that continued into this morning.  Needless to say, there was no morning walk.  Due to the weather, we had a pretty quiet day.  After church, we spent the afternoon watching the PGA final on TV.  We then got ambitious and installed the new mirror in the bathroom--still need to hang the doors and put up the trim.  That was pretty much our day--just too cool and wet to do anything outside.

I forgot to give an update on Dave and Amy.  They found a house they liked, put in an offer, and it was accepted.  They will close on the house in Sioux Falls on June 4th and on the new one in Gillette on June 16th.  They will only be homeless for 12 days, just enough time to visit with the family before making the final move to Wyoming.

Saturday, May 26, 2012

Even though the temps were a little on the cool side this morning, we still got out for our morning walk--just had to bundle up a little more.

After breakfast, John and I decided to run a few errands.  First on the list was a stop at the local greenhouse to pick up another pack of Marigolds to fill in the open spot left by the rose bush John pulled.  From there we headed to Bemidji and a craft store where we ordered matting for the photos we want to hang in the bathroom.  We then went to Home Depot--they just received in a shipment of mirrors and we were finally able to find the size we needed for over the bathroom sink.  Next stop, BK for lunch, and from there, it was Wal Mart for some new towels and a few groceries.

This afternoon John went up to Matt's where he cut more firewood and hauled it home.  I baked bread and worked on the finances.  We took a break from the day's activities and watched the movie "Midway" and some of the PGA.

Friday, May 25, 2012

When we woke up this morning we were greeted with clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine--perfect for taking a walk.  It was a good thing we got our walk in early in the day because by mid-morning the winds came up and the temps didn't move upward at all.  Our highs for the day were in the mid 50's--not very spring-like.

John took some time this morning to lacquer the doors for the bathroom linen closet.  He had stained them the other day and now they are ready to be hung.  This afternoon he headed up to Matt's to cut some more firewood.  It was perfect weather for doing that as the cool temps and wind keep the bugs away.  John would like to get all the firewood cut before the warmer weather arrives.

I continued more sorting and weeding out and filled another crate with garage sale items.  I've just about sorted through all the closets and drawers.  Next step is to get the garage ready for the sale.  That is on the agenda for next week.

Thursday, May 24, 2012

It was another cloudy day with very high humidity--it looked like it could rain at any moment, but we never got a drop.

John did some more work in the bathroom installing the sill plate in the door way and re-hanging the door.  He also fixed the electrical outlet and put on the new cover.

We had a rose bush by the deck that was getting out of control, so John decided it was a good time to pull it out since the ground was nice and soft from yesterday's rain.  After trying to dig up the bush, he ended up getting the four wheeler and pulling the it out.  He also mowed another section of the lawn this afternoon.   With the moist, warm weather the grass is growing fast and needs constant attention.

I went up to Sara's this morning for a hair cut and then did a little more touch-up grouting in the bathroom.  Parts of the house are pretty dusty from cutting tile and grouting, so I started giving our bedroom a good cleaning and also sorted through some things stored in the closet.  I found a few more items for the garage sale--think I can be ready for it in a couple of weeks.

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

We had thunderstorms overnight and a steady rain fell most of today.  This was the first significant rain we have had since we returned home and more showers are predicted for tomorrow.

We slept in a little later this morning and after breakfast John headed into town to gas up the Honda and take care of a few errands.  He picked up a couple of new tomato plants to replace we lost to the frost last week and got them in the garden between showers.

I spent the morning working in the bathroom grouting the top edge of the tile around the tub and sink, got a few more tools put away, and some cleaning up accomplished.

This afternoon we had to be up at the school by 3p.m. to pick Sam up and take him to Bemidji for his doctor appointment.  Sara had major dental work done this afternoon and Matt was working in Bemidji, so John and I were recruited to get Sam to the clinic.  Matt met us there and went with Sam to his appointment.

John and I headed off to Home Depot to return the extra tiles, grout, and several other items left over from the bathroom project.  We also stopped at Gander Mountain and picked up our 2012 fishing licenses.  Matt called and said he and Sam were done at the clinic, so we met them at BK for a quick bite.  The doctor was very pleased with how Sam's fingers were healing and was optimistic about the outcome.  He is to return to the clinic in three weeks and is allowed to get the fingers wet when showering.  The doctor also wants Sam to start using his hand more, but he has to be very careful.  Sam can shoot a basketball, but cannot play the game.

We made several stops looking for a new mirror for the bathroom, but couldn't find the size we needed.  Hopefully, Home Depot will get the size we need in sometime next week.  Our final stop was Wal Mart for groceries and then we hit the road to home.

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

John and I thought we would have a free day, but last night Hanna sent me a text message saying that Rachel had her field day this morning and wanted us to come.  We got up early this morning and, after breakfast, got busy loading up the empty tile boxes, old carpet and padding, and other trash into the back of the pickup to haul to the dump this afternoon.  We got done just in time to head up to the school for the elementary field day.

The fourth, fifth, and sixth graders sign up for different events and compete by grade.  We spent the morning there and when they broke for lunch, we headed back home.

This afternoon John took the trash to the dump and then spent some time mowing more of the lawn.  He also got the toilet back in the bathroom and the faucets for the tub partially hooked up.  Longer screws are needed, so that job will have to wait to be completed for another day.  We are slowly getting the bathroom operational again.

Monday, May 21, 2012

We had another early morning as everyone needed to get on the road--Dave and Amy to Gillette and John and I to home.

The van loaded and ready to be towed

We said our good-byes and pulled out around 7:30 a.m.  Our first stop was McDonald's for breakfast and then we hit the interstate arriving in Fargo just in time for lunch.  We made one final stop at DQ before driving the last 18 miles home.

The first thing we noticed as we drove in the driveway was the grass needed to be mowed again.  I unloaded the car while John got a fire going in the outdoor furnace and then got busy with the lawn mowers.  Matt got the bathroom tiling done while we were away, so I spent a few minutes touching up the paint around the tiles and also painting over some spots I missed before. I took a walk down by the shop and saw that the wildflowers planted in front were in bloom.

Tomorrow we need to start restoring order to the upstairs--that means counting tiles to be returned to Home Depot, hauling trash to the dump, and getting the bathroom back in working order.

Sunday, May 20, 2012

We had another busy day here in Sioux Falls. Everyone was up nice and early and we were able to leave right on time for church.  Since Dave and Amy will be moving to Gillette, this was our last time to worship with the folks at this church.  They have been a wonderful and generous congregation.

Dave and Amy decided to tow their van on this trip out to Gillette, so following lunch, they went to U-Haul to pick up the trailer they had reserved early in the week.  While they were gone, John and I got the rest of the drapes taken down and everything else off the walls.  The kids loaded the van with many of the items one keeps in their garage.  We got a few more boxes packed and then decided to call it quits for the day.  The guys went and picked up some pizza for supper and we watched a movie while chowing down.

Dave, Amy, and the boys will be leaving early tomorrow morning for Gillette where they will begin the process of house hunting.  They need to be out of the here by June 4th.  As they head west, John and I will head north to home.  Matt sent a text saying the tiling job was completed in the bathroom.  Now we'll have to get the toilet back in and hook up the facets, etc. and give the house a good cleaning as there was a lot of back and forth from outside while cutting tiles.

Saturday, May 19, 2012

Today was graduation day.  Everyone was up and about nice and early to help with getting the house straightened up.  With only 16 days til moving day, there were plenty of boxes to be stored in the garage and bedrooms to make room for the open house party.

John and Caleb did the vacuuming and took care of setting up extra chairs while Dave and Amy ran to pick up the cake from Sam's Club. Dave's dad arrived mid-morning, so preparations stopped for a while to allow for some visiting.  Right after lunch, John and I made sandwiches and then I got the lemonade made and stored in the fridge.  It was then time for everyone to get cleaned up and head off to the graduation ceremony.

The ceremony was held at a large Baptist church in south Sioux Falls.  It lasted well over an hour and then refreshments were served.  We returned home in plenty of time to greet our first guests.  It was a busy but exciting day and we were glad to be here with Dave and Amy to help them celebrate this very special event.

Friday, May 18, 2012

The weather was sunny and very hot here in Sioux Falls today.  The temps reached into the 90's.  Dave was gone most of the day finishing up the last of his classes and then going to the rehearsal for graduation.
As Amy and Dave have sold their home and must be out in two and a half weeks, John and I spent most of the day helping her and the boys pack.  We got quite a bit done.  We took a little break around lunch time and headed to Burger King for lunch.

This evening John and I stayed with the boys while Amy and Dave attended a banquet for the graduates.  We enjoyed the evening playing games and watching a DVD.

Thursday, May 17, 2012

It's been a rather hectic day.  I was up pretty early as I had to be in Bemidji for an 8:30 a.m. doctor's appointment.  After I left the clinic, I gassed up the Honda and stopped at Subway to grab some lunch for John and Matt.

While I was gone this morning, the guys finished tiling around the tub and sink and then started on the floor.  John worked with Matt while I finished packing and loaded the bags in the car.  We hit the road to Sioux Falls a little after two, arriving at Amy's around 9:30 p.m.  It was a long day.  Matt called and said he got the rest of the tile down on the floor and will come back to our place to grout it tomorrow.  That's all for tonight--time to get some shut-eye.

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

John and I were up a little earlier this morning as he wanted to get a start on removing the bathroom carpeting before Matt arrived to work on the tiling.

We'll be heading to Sioux Falls, SD tomorrow to attend our son-in-law's graduation from seminary.  Amy asked us to come down a day early so we can help her get ready for the open house they are planning for Saturday.  Since we won't be home until sometime Monday afternoon, I did laundry, some straightening up around the house, ran to Bemidji to take care of some banking, and finally made a stop at Home Depot to pick up the tile that came in this morning along with several other items the guys needed to get the job done.

John and Matt spent the entire day working on the bathroom.  Matt is coming back tomorrow to start on the floor and will finish the job while we're away.  I have a doctor's appointment first thing in the morning, so John will be here to give Matt a hand for several hours.

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

We had another bright sunny day, but the temps were about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday with the strong winds returning.  We took our morning walk and had just finished eating breakfast when Matt arrived to work on the bathroom tiling job.

It's amazing how long it takes to measure and layout straight and level lines before you can even put up the first tile.  The guys got as far as they could tiling the back splash for the sink.  Hopefully the tiles needed to finish that will be in tomorrow.  They also got the first row around the bathtub.  Since those tiles aren't resting on anything, we had to wait for them to dry completely so they wouldn't slip when the next row is added.

Before supper, John managed to get some of the grass cut.  We'll be out of town for five days so he wants to get it all under control before we leave.

This evening we headed back up to the school for the elementary spring concert.  Josh, Jenni, and Julie all played piano solos during breaks in the program.  We have one more event next week--Julie's dance recital--then school will be out for the summer.

Monday, May 14, 2012

We had an absolutely beautiful day--sunny skies and warm temps.  John and I were up and out the door nice and early for our morning walk.  The warmer overnight temps have brought out the leaves on the trees--we have green everywhere now.

Right after breakfast John patched the wall in the bathroom in preparation for installing the tile.  We have to let it dry overnight and will start that project tomorrow.

The Sears store in Bemidji notified us that our order came in, so we decided to pick it up and, while we were out and about, get some more plants and flowers for the garden.  We stopped at Burger King for some lunch and then made several stops looking for more seed potatoes.  We finally found some at a nursery several miles from home.

John looked at the ten day forecast and decided it was safe to plant the rest of the garden.  He put in his tomato, pepper, cabbage plants, more potatoes and carrots.  The whole garden is in--now hopefully there won't be any more frost.  As you can see from the photos below, everything in our yard is blooming.

This evening we went up to the school for the spring band concert.  Josh plays trombone and Rachel, the flute, in the fifth grade band.  Josh also played in the sixth grade band.  The kids did a great job.

Sunday, May 13, 2012

The strong winds returned overnight so we didn't take our morning walk.  We slept in a little longer and then ate breakfast, got cleaned up, and headed off to church.

John and I spent a pretty quiet day at home, just relaxing, watching the PGA, and the finale of Survivor.  Thanks to my girls in SD and CA for their Mother's Day phone calls.  It was great hearing from you.

Saturday, May 12, 2012

Since John didn't have to be off to work with Matt, we were able to get our morning walk in today.  We had a beautiful sunny day, but were in a Red Flag warning due to the high winds and very dry conditions.  The winds finally died down after sunset.

Joanne and the kids came to the shop this morning and John spent some time helping them shred newspaper for packaging.  After lunch he took the old plastic fence down from around the garden, pulled some weeds, and got the potatoes and onions planted.  Our 2012 garden is underway.  He also took some time getting the wall next to the new sink ready for tiling.  Hopefully we might get that project started next week.

It was a good day to get a few more of the screens and windows washed and the screens in.  Now there are only a few more windows left to do.  We'll probably get some rain since I washed windows--that's the way it usually goes.

Friday, May 11, 2012

Even though the morning was overcast and looked like rain, John and Matt headed off to the job.  The home owner wanted flower boxes built along with a few other things, so the guys worked on them since the needed shingles won't be in until next week.  John will have a few days off now so we hope to start laying out a pattern for the bathroom tile.

I kept busy this morning cleaning out the coat closet and getting the winter jackets washed and put away for summer.  I also cleaned out some drawers and found a few more items for the garage sale.  I keep thinking I have nothing left to sell, but somehow I manage to find a few more things every spring.

When we picked up the tile for the bathroom the other day, Home Depot didn't have enough of the end cap tiles we needed.  We were told they were on order and would be in yesterday.   John and I decided to take a run to Bemidji and pick up the tiles.  When we got to the tile aisle, we found the spot for end caps was still empty.  After talking to a sales person, we learned they wouldn't be in for at least another week or so.  He volunteered to call the Home Depot in Grand Rapids, found they had plenty in stock, and arranged for some to be shipped to their store next week.  Hopefully, they will be there by Thursday morning as I have a doctor's appointment at that time and can pick them up while I'm in town

John saw an ad in the paper from the local green house offering Mother's Day specials.  They are located just off the main highway, so while we were out running around, we stopped and picked up some tomato and pepper plants--now we need to keep them alive and healthy until we can get them in the ground.  John tilled the garden last night, so at least it's ready for planting. .

By the time we were finished at Home Depot, it was supper time, so we just went around the corner to grab a bite at Burger King.  From there we hit the road to home and spent a quiet evening watching some TV.

Thursday, May 10, 2012

We had another beautiful sunny day with the temps reaching the mid 70's.  John left the house around 8:15 a.m. to meet Matt at the job site.  They were short shingles and couldn't get the roof portion of the job finished today, but still managed to put in a full day.

Since I spent a couple of days working the bathroom, I had gotten a little behind on some of the regular household chores.  Today I got the laundry under control and then gave our home office a good cleaning.  It hadn't been touched since we came home from Texas and the dust was pretty thick.  The nice weather certainly made it more enjoyable to wash a few more windows and get the screens in.  I also did some more sorting for a garage sale.  A cold front with high winds is suppose to be coming through tonight and bring much cooler temps.  Glad we have had a couple of nice days in a row.

Wednesday, May 9, 2012

The clouds and showers of yesterday gave way to a beautiful sunny day.  John left the house right after breakfast to meet up with Matt at the job site.  They have about two more days of work on this particular job and it should be done.

This morning I went to the dentist for my six month check up and teeth cleaning.  I got a good report--no cavities, so I'm good to go until the fall.  John needed me to pick up a couple of plumbing parts for the sink, so I stopped at the local hardware store when I was finished with the dentist.  I was just getting in the car when I head someone call my name--it was Valada Sandwick.  Dave's mother had passed away last week and they were home for the funeral.  We spent some time visiting and catching up on what has been happening with each of us over the past month.  They will be heading back to Fort Clark on Saturday.

Matt had to stop work by 2 p.m. because Sam had another doctor's appointment, so John was home a little after that.  JD had two large crates of the free firewood on his truck and said that we could have them if we could get them unloaded within the next hour as he had to leave early.  John and I got busy and now have quite a big pile of wood for heating our water this spring.

John checked out the plumbing parts I got and decided they wouldn't quite work, so after we finished with the wood, we went to Bemidji, hit Menards, and found the exact part we needed.   Since it was supper time and we were both on the hungry side, we went to Country Kitchen for a bit to eat.  We made one more stop at Fleet Farm for a spare tire for the trailer and then hit the road home.  John installed the parts we picked up and now our new sink is ready to use.

Tuesday, May 8, 2012

We had rain showers off and on all day and that pretty much dictated what we did today.  Obviously, Matt and John couldn't work outside, so John caught up on a few house jobs.  He spent some time down in the shop putting a new coat of lacquer on a couple of bathroom shelves.  After they dried, he hung them and a couple of towel hooks up.  This afternoon, Matt stopped over and helped John install our new sink.  They had to cut out some of the sheet-rock to make it fit, but our new tile will cover the openings.  We just need a couple of hoses and flexible drain and we'll be able to use our new sink.

I kept busy today doing laundry, helping John get the shelves up, and baking some oatmeal raisin cookies.  JD dropped off another load of free firewood, so between the showers, John and I got it unloaded.  We spent a quiet evening watching some TV and working on the computer.

Monday, May 7, 2012

It was a beautiful morning for a walk even though it was a little on the breezy side.  We sure could use some rain here and even though it has been in the forecast the past few days, we only get little hit and miss showers.

Matt had a dental appointment this morning, so John waited for his call saying he was done and ready for John to meet him at the job site. The rafters they were waiting on came in so they were able to get back on the job of putting a roof over an entry door.

I finished up the project I started last week--giving the den a good cleaning.  We were out of bread, so I baked a couple of loaves and just took care of a few household chores.  It was a pretty uneventful day.

Sunday, May 6, 2012

John's back was very stiff this morning and he didn't feel up to sitting for an hour or more on a hard pew, so we missed church.  He has been
taking the anti-inflammatory meds for several days and has only gotten a little relief.

Today was the final day for the tile sale at Home Depot, so we made a quick trip to Bemidji to pick up the tile for the floor and back-splash.
Since we had no rain this afternoon (showers were predicted), John decided it was a good time to spray the weeds and dandelions in the lawn and flower beds.  We also took some time to watch the PGA --it was a pretty exciting finish.  Our evening was spent watching the finale of The Amazing Race and doing some computer work.  It was a pretty quiet day.

Saturday, May 5, 2012

We started off the day with our usual morning walk.  Since it's the weekend, the traffic was much lighter--no school bus on the road and our neighbor didn't go to work.

After eating breakfast, John and I got busy on our separate projects.  Before he got started on the lawn, he removed towel holders and light plates in the bathroom.  Matt came over and helped remove the bathroom sink and counter top and then I got busy with the paintbrush.  The ceiling and walls all got one coat and then I called it a day since I didn't get started painting until later in the morning.  John got his lawn under control and took time to rest his back.

While Matt was here also gave us an update on Sam's checkup following his finger surgery of last week.  The doctor thought the fingers were looking good, but Sam's still not out of the woods concerning amputation of the digit that was almost severed.  That finger is not doing as well as the one that was crushed.  He sees the doctor again next week, and more will be known at that time.  Please keep him in your prayers.  Thanks.

Friday, May 4, 2012

It was nice and sunny when we took our walk this morning and thought we were in for a nice day; however, the clouds moved in by mid-morning bringing cooler temps and hung around all day.

JD can get some free firewood from the kiln in town and this morning picked up a load for us.  It's perfect to use in the warmer weather as we only need to heat our hot water.  After breakfast John and I went out and unloaded the trailer, just dumping the wood on the ground near the outdoor furnace.  We hope JD can get us another load or two of this scrap wood.

While I was outside with my camera, I decided to take a few pictures to record the progress of our Spring.

Grass is green.  Strawberries (l) and
Raspberries (r) are also greening.  No leaves

After lunch John and I spent a little time on the computer placing our seed order for the garden.  We then worked in the bathroom removing light and bath fixtures, and texturing a couple of walls.  Tomorrow I hope to finally get the bathroom painted.  That needs to be done first before we can install the new sink and start laying tile.

Thursday, May 3, 2012

We had an absolutely beautiful day--sunny skies, warm temps, and gentle breezes.  Our day was a pretty busy one.  Following our walk, we did a few chores around the house, got cleaned up, and then headed up to Sara's for haircuts.  From there we drove to Bemidji where we had an appointment at the bank.  We were early and had some time to kill, so we went to Burger King for lunch and then made a quick stop at Home Depot to check out some tile and paint.  John and I concluded our business at the bank and from there went to Menards to look at some of their tiles once again,  It was decided we liked the Home Depot colors better.

By now it was time for John's doctor's appointment.  He has been having some back pain and stiffness and had me call for an appointment yesterday.  I couldn't believe that he got in today--I expected a two week  wait.  The doctor told John it's arthritis and prescribed an anti-inflammatory for the next month and see how he responds.

Now we were back to Home Depot where we picked up a gallon of paint and a couple of tile samples.  We've decided to paint the bathroom first, install the new sink, and then make the final decision on tile for the back-splash and floor.  We also looked at new doors for the linen closet and light fixtures for over the sink.  There was one final stop at the pharmacy in Bagley and then we hit the road to home.  After all that running around today, it felt good just to veg out tonight reading and watching some TV.

Wednesday, May 2, 2012

John left the house right after breakfast again and met up with Matt at the job site.  The guys finished the siding by early afternoon, packed up their tools and headed on home.  No more work with Matt until some time next week.  John has some trees started in the garden that are now large enough to be transplanted around the yard, so this afternoon he dug some holes and got them ready for the trees.

I had a dental appointment this morning to get my teeth cleaned.  When I got to the office, I was told that the appointment was for next Wednesday.  I told the receptionist that I had received a postcard in the mail last week reminding me of my appointment today.  She said they had to change it--seems they forgot to notify me.  So I just turned around and drove back home.  Good thing it's only a ten minute drive into town.

This afternoon I decided to give the den a good cleaning, wash the windows, and put the in the screens.  I got as far as sorting through the VHS tapes and getting them ready to put on ebay.  We took the VCR out of there and will either put it on ebay or the garage sale.  Our VHS tapes were all Disney films that the grand kids have outgrown, so it's time for them to go.  Didn't get any further with the cleaning than the tapes.  Tomorrow's another day.
