Today was another busy one here in Dallas. Unfortunately, Deb had to go to work this morning, so that left John, Jim, and I to play. Right after breakfast, we three went to another mall where we walked for an hour before the stores opened. From there, Jim took us to the Gaylord Resort and Spa where we spent some time inside touring their atrium--there were many blooming flowers, waterfalls, and a miniature town with a railroad. John talked to one of the workers and learned the Gaylord employees eight people whose job it is to take care of the atrium plants--this is their only full time job at the resort. When we left the spa, it was just about time for lunch, so we picked up Deb at her place of work and went to Subway. We were able to spend an hour visiting with her before we took her back to her job. The three of us then went to the golf course to play nine holes. This course is much larger and has more hazards than the one we play in Fort Clark. We played a best ball scramble and had a lot of fun. I lost two balls to water hazards and the guys didn't bother picking up a few of their balls that went way off the fairways--heavy rains last night made for very wet spots, much mud, and difficult ball retrievable. Jim cooked a delicious spaghetti and shirmp dish for supper this evening. We spent the rest of our time visiting before calling it a night. John and I have had a wonderful time with our friends for the past couple of days--tomorrow morning we hit the road north.
