We slept in a little later this morning before heading off for the breakfast served at the motel. After checking out, we went to the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame where we spent about three hours looking at all the exhibits and watching a 45 minute movie about the rangers. John and I learned so much about the history of the rangers and the state of Texas. Our next stop was the Dr. Pepper museum. I always thought Dr. Pepper was a newer soda, but we found out that it has been around for over 125 years and started right here in Waco, Texas. By the time we were finished with Dr. Pepper, it was time for lunch. Whataburger was right nearby, so that's where we ate. Next we got on the road for Dallas. We were moving right along, making good time, until we were well within the city limits. Then it was bumper to bumper traffic for over 45 minutes. We reached Jim and Deb's safe and sound. Deb served a delicious meal--she's a real southern hostess and takes good care of her guests. Our evening was spent sitting outside by the pool visiting and catching up. It's a little cooler here than at the Fort--John's still wearing his shorts.
