John and I got up around 5:30 a.m. so we could get our walk in before the day got too hot--it was 71 degrees when we started out this morning and the temps reached the mid 90's by the afternoon. We used the AC for the first time today.

John thought he had to help JD in the shop, but things weren
't ready to be assembled, so he spent time in the garden picking strawberries. We were fortunate that the weather was so cool and rainy while we were away and the berries didn't start to ripen until this week. There seems to be plenty of strawberry jam left from last year, so we plan to put some of this year's crop in the freezer and eat the rest.

After breakfast, I went up to Sara's to get my hair cut and to discuss menus for the Fourth of July weekend. Amy's family will be here for the holiday, so today I got busy baking some cookies and making potato and Jello salads.

This afternoon was so warm, we just vegged inside in the AC watching a few TV shows. Matt and Hanna stopped over to pick up a screen door that was stored in the shed and spent some time in the coolness visiting and filling us in on Diesel's escapades.
