After a beautiful day yesterday we woke to gray skies and cooler temperatures. My knee was still a little sore, so John headed off alone for his morning walk. Because of early morning darkness, John was a little later taking his walk, so when he got home, he had to hustle through breakfast so he would be on time to pick up Tim for carvers. John has finished his hummingbird and is now starting to carve a face on a block of wood. He said carving a face is much harder to do because you have layers of carving and the steps to doing it have to be done in the proper order.

Even though my knee was feeling better today, I called over to Uvalde and got a doctor's appointment for tomorrow morning. I just want to check things out and see if I can learn just what is happening with the knee. By mid-morning it was clear we were going to have a cool, rainy day. John went to the post office and found we had two Bagley newspapers. We spent some time this afternoon catching up on the hometown news. John also picked up the Kinney Country Post and we were surprised to see our photo on the front page as "Good Neighbors of the Week". We had no idea that we were being considered for the "good neighbor" this week.

Mary Ellen dropped by for a quick visit this afternoon to get an update on how my knee was doing and we talked again about the treasure hunt and great party she threw for Tim. Everyone really had a good time. Since the weather remained cool and misty there was no evening walk. We just spent a quiet evening at
home watching a new movie.
