The humidity of the past several days finally broke and it was a perfect morning for a walk. After breakfast John headed up to Matt's where Sam and his cousin, Elizabeth, helped load the pickup and trailer with firewood. Then it was back to our place to unload it. In between trips they managed to play some basketball.

Joanne and the kids came down to the shop this morning so Jo could help with the packing. I spent some time visiting with them and catching up on what has been happening with them while we were away.

We had quite a bit of activity around our place today. The telephone company is installing some new fiber optic cable underground, so this afternoon they pulled in our place with their equipment and proceeded to tear up our driveway. They tried to smooth everything out, but John will have a little job reseeding some of the lawn. Not sure if we will have to bring in more gravel for the driveway. Will have to wait and see how it holds up after some rains. I didn't get too much accomplished today as I was busy watching all the outside action.

This evening John went out to check the strawberry patch and found that some had ripened. Hopefully we'll soon have enough to make jam and have strawberry shortcake. Spent the evening watching a little TV.
