We were up bright and early and after saying good-bye to Susie's family, we were on the road once again. There was little to no traffic driving out of Sacramento and after being on the road for half an hour, we stopped at a Denny's for breakfast. From there it was on to Reno and then the long, long, drive across the state of Nevada. The landscape is very barren, but the snow capped mountains were a beautiful sight.

It was a long day, but we reached Salt Lake City a little after 7:00 p.m. Today was the biggest push so we should be able to do shorter days the rest of the trip. We checked into a motel and then went to Perkins for supper. While we were eating, a fellow who also winters at Fort Clark came over to our table. It was Gary from Yankton, SD. He told us he is working in SLC for several weeks. Talk about a small world! Tonight we will look over the maps and decide where we travel from here.
