After a hectic weekend of visiting, it felt good to have a slower pace today and slip back into our regular routine. The weather continues to be beautiful--everyone is enjoying it after days of cool temps and heavy rains.

John worked in the shop until Matt and Hanna came over this morning to return our four wheeler. Hanna brought her camera and we looked through some of her photos to find ones to enter in the fair this summer. When she makes her final selections, John will make some frames for showing them. The county fair is sometime in August, so I have to get busy looking through my photos, too.

We are planning to put a new floor in the kitchen, so while Matt was here, he helped John get the measurements and told us what we will need. Hopefully, that job will get done sometime over the next several weeks. Matt is also going to help John finish up the garage and woodshed projects. Between garden, working in the shop, and mowing lawn, he doesn't have much time left for other things and before we know it, the summer will be over.

Since John picked berries yesterday, my afternoon was spent cutting them up and getting them into the freezer. We are having a bumper crop of berries this summer--we're so glad they didn't ripen while we were on vacation. After picking more berries this evening, John settled in to watch some baseball while I worked on the computer and caught up on emails.
