We had a pretty quiet Fourth of July. The weather was much warmer today, so we kept to our routine of getting up early and walking while it's still cool. Joanne came to work in the shop and brought Josh, Jenni, and Julie with her. The girls helped John pick a couple of buckets of strawberries so I know what I'll be doing tomorrow--we let the berries sit overnight to let them fully ripen before cutting them up. Amy's family came over to visit, so the kids had a good time playing together before everyone left around noon.

After lunch I made a pasta salad for tonight's supper at Matt's. This was our final gathering before the kids head home tomorrow morning. While we w
ere eating, the sky started clouding over, so we all decided to do our little fireworks and sparklers before it stormed.

Fireworks and Sparklers

We just finished with the fireworks when the rains came down. After visiting for a bit inside, it was decided to call it a night as the kids were all pretty tired and needed to get to bed. John and I were tired too, so we headed back home. The weather forecast is calling for severe thunderstorms--looks like we're in for a bumpy night.
