Today we had to drive to the Twin Cities to pick up the little boat John bought on Ebay. We got up bright and early and were on the road by 6:15 a.m. After stopping at Burger King in Bemidji for a quick breakfast, we hit the road. The first hour we drove through rain showers, but after that we had dry roads but heavy winds.

With the help of our Garmin, we arrived at our destination around 11:30 a.m. and met the nice folks who were selling the boat. We spent about half an hour with them signing papers and getting the boat hitched up to the truck. John also had a nice conversation with Peter about their garden and the grapes they were growing. Soon we were headed north again.

Before getting on the interstate, we stopped for a late lunch at Culver's and then decided stretch our legs for a while in the Cabela's store down the road. As usual, John couldn't resist the sale rack and ended up with two new shirts.

As most of you know, John also has a very real weakness for Dairy Queen, so we had one more stop for ice cream about half way home. That gave us just the energy boost to finish our long drive. We arrived home around 6:30p.m. safe and sound. After storing our new little boat in the garage, we spent a very quiet evening watching a movie on TV.
